Mary Wu, M.D. (China, TCM), M.Sc. (Canada), Dipl. Ac. & C.H. (NCCAOM, USA) As the Founder and President of the Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Mary Wu is not only dedicated to the promotion and service of TCM, but is also an outstanding teacher. She has been teaching a variety of courses at different levels for several years. In order to ensure the quality of education at the TSTCM, Mary teaches nearly every single student enrolled in the program at both the fundamental and advanced levels. She not only teaches, but also supervises the teaching clinic. Her close contact with students ensures open communication between the school and its students and the improvement of the quality of the training program, education and services. Her teaching has set an excellent example for all faculty members at the school.

Marylyn Bell, DTCMD (TSTCM), Dipl. Ac. & C.H. (NCCAOM) Marylyn is a graduate from the first class of the Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine Diploma program at the Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is committed to the promotion and education of TCM in Canada. She was among the first group of TSTCM graduates certified by the U.S. National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) for both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology. She is currently practicing in Oakville and teaching at the TSTCM.

Tracy Chen, M.D. (China, TCM) Tracy Chen has been practicing and teaching TCM and acupuncture in China and Canada for over 12 years since she received her medical degree from the College of Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology at Beijing Union University in 1989. She teaches TCM theory and diagnosis.

Zhao Cheng, M.D., M.Sc. (China, TCM), Ph.D. Zhao Cheng received his Undergraduate and Masters degrees from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. He was a Professor and Chief Physician at the University and its teaching hospital. In 1997, Zhao Cheng completed his Ph.D. at the Hiroshima University School of Medicine in Japan. He did two years of post-doctoral research in the Eppley Institute for Research in Cancer at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He has published a number of scientific articles related to cancer and clinical immunology. Zhao Cheng is currently practicing acupuncture and TCM in Toronto, and specializes in cancer and immune disorders.

Helen Dolhanyk Helen is a personal and business development consultant. She is a member of the Association of Independent Consultants, the American Society for Training and Development, and the International Society for Performance Improvement. She has an extensive background in sales, recruitment, training and building productive dynamic organizations. Helen teaches students business promotion, patient recruitment and performance improvement. She helps students prepare and build successful careers and businesses.

Yidan Ding, TCMD, M.Sc. (China, TCM) Yidan Ding received her medical training from Henan University of TCM. She has been teaching and practicing acupuncture and Chinese medicine since 1978. She was an Associate Professor and Deputy Chief Doctor working at the International TCM and Acupuncture Center, Jinan University in Guangzhou before coming to Canada. Yidan has also published many scientific papers related to acupuncture treatments and related techniques.

James Fitzpatrick, L. Ac., M.Sc. Dipl. Ac. & C.H. (NCCAOM) James Fitzpatrick has pursued his interest in holistic health for over 20 years. He studied at the Texas Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and at the Samra University of Oriental Medicine in Los Angeles, where he received his Masters degree in Oriental Medicine. He is certified in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology by the NCCAOM and the California Medical Board. Upon completion of his studies in North America, James did his clinical internship in China at Heilongjiang and Beijing hospitals, where he studied under some of China’s foremost practitioners. He has been practicing taiji-qigong for over 20 years, and has an extensive knowledge of the various forms of taiji-qigong.

Lihui Guo, M.D. (China, TCM) Lihui Guo received his medical degree in 1986 from Liaoning College of Chinese Medicine. He was an Associate Professor and Vice Chief Physician teaching and practicing Chinese medicine at Liaoning College of Chinese Medicine, its affiliated hospital and Liaoning Academy of TCM until 1998. He has taken on-the-job training programs at the China International Training Center of Traditional Therapy of TCM where he also majored in acupuncture, tuina massage and TCM traumatology. Lihui Guo also conducted clinical research on the effects of acupuncture on high blood pressure. He specializes in acupuncture and tuina treatment of sciatic neuralgia and headaches. He has taught and practiced acupuncture, tuina massage and Chinese medicine since coming to Canada in 1998.

Mohammad Javaherian, M.D. (China, TCM) Mohammad Javaherian started his career in TCM in the late 1970s. He attended the College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle for one and a half years, and also studied and practiced TCM in Los Angeles. In 1984, Mohammad went to China, studied the Chinese language and attended the International Acupuncture Program at the Nanjing College of TCM. In order to become a professional practitioner in TCM, he studied at Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine for an additional 5 years and completed his medical degree in TCM, followed by an intensive postgraduate training in acupuncture. Mohammad has practiced acupuncture and TCM for over 10 years. He is highly regarded by the students for his excellent teaching.

Yan Pan, M.D., M.SC. (China, TCM) Yan graduated from Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has been teaching and practicing acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine both in China and in Canada for over 15 years. Her specialties are diagnosis, herbal medicine and the Chinese language.

George J. Shen, B.S., DTCM, M.D. (China) Professor Shen graduated from the School of Medicine, St. John's University in 1947. He completed his TCM training in 1962. Professor Shen has over 40 years of clinical, teaching and research experience. He was a Professor, Chief Physician and Director of Shanghai Municipal Hypertension Institute in the 1950s. Professor Shen has worked at Shanghai University of TCM since 1985 and has published many scientific papers and won a number of awards for his excellent work.

Linda Liying Tang, M.D. (China), M.Sc. Linda graduated in 1986 and received her Masters degree at Sun Yet-Sen University of Medical Science in 1993. She was awarded Excellent Graduate Student for her graduate study and majored in anesthesia and acupuncture anesthesia. She has 16 years of clinical experience in the practice of integrated Chinese and western medicine. In Canada, Linda was trained as a pharmacy assistant and works as a pharmacy assistant while practicing acupuncture and TCM in Toronto. She teaches western medicine, acupuncture anesthesia and integrated clinical medicine.

Xiaomei Wang, M.D., M.Sc., Ph.D. (China, TCM) Xiaomei received her undergraduate and M.Sc. degrees from Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine. She was the winner of the first class scholarship and best student in all five years of her undergraduate study. Wang studied under the supervision of Cheng Shide, a well-known TCM professor and received her Ph.D. in 1994. She was an Assistant Professor at Beijing College of Acupuncture and Orthopedics, teaching undergraduate and graduate students TCM theory and acupuncture. She also has extensive research experience in the study of Chinese herbal medicine on cerebral hemorrhage, isolation and pharmacological characterization of active Chinese herbal compounds for the treatment of psychiatric disorders. She has published numerous scientific articles and book chapters and has won a prize from the Ministry of Chinese Medicine for her outstanding research achievement. Wang teaches Chinese herbology, clinical treatments and a variety of courses at TSTCM.

Yuxiang Wang, M.D., M.Sc. (China, TCM), Dipl. Ac. & C.H. (NCCAOM) Yuxiang Wang received her medical degree in 1983 and her M.Sc. degree in 1986 from Tianjin College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She specializes in gynecology and obstetrics. Yuxiang has more than 18 years of clinical and teaching experience. She was an Associate Professor of Gynecology at the Tianjin College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a physician at No.1 Hospital of Tianjin College of TCM and Vice Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She received her Diploma in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology from NCCAOM and was a licensed acupuncturist and instructor in Pennsylvania. Yuxiang is currently practicing TCM and acupuncture in Toronto and teaching various courses at TSTCM.

Jeson J.Z. Yan, M.D. (China) Jeson Yan graduated from Nanjing Medical Institute with a medical degree and is a Thoracic-Cardiovascular Surgeon with over ten years of clinical experience. In 1995, he received his Certificate for Naprapathy (tuina) and Acupuncture & Moxibustion of TCM, and began practicing as an acupuncture and tuina doctor in China since then. Jeson started teaching at TSTCM in September 2001. His tuina manipulation skills and teaching style are highly regarded by students.

Jilan Yang, M.D. (China, TCM) Jilan graduated from the College of TCM, Beijing Union University and also received her TCM Pharmacy Diploma from Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1998. She was a physician specializing in cardiovascular diseases for three years in Beijing TCM Hospital before coming to Canada. Jilan is an enthusiastic and dedicated TCM doctor and instructor.

Luying Yang, M.D. (China), Ph.D. (Canada) Luying received her medical degree in western medicine and specialized in cardiology before coming to Canada. She received her Ph.D. at the University of Toronto, and has been doing medical research for over 15 years in the fields of pharmacology, medical biotechnology and clinical trials. Luying is currently working as a medical scientist at Women's College Hospital. She also works as a health consultant in Scarborough. She has received numerous awards for excellence in medical research. Luying teaches courses in western medicine and research.

Robert Yin, B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D. Dipl. Ac. & C.H. (NCCAOM) Robert received his Masters degree in Oriental Medicine from the Samra University of Oriental Medicine in Los Angeles. To further his knowledge and expertise in TCM, he successfully completed his degree for Doctor of Philosophy in Oriental Medicine from the School of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine at Yuin University in the United States. He is certified by NCCAOM for Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology and is a licensed acupuncturist in California. He was recently honoured with permanent membership from the Hong Kong Chinese Herbalists Association. Currently, Robert is practicing TCM in Toronto. He specializes in the treatment of diabetes and related conditions.

Kathy Yongling Zhang, M.D. (China, TCM) After five years of formal training, Kathy graduated from the Acupuncture and Orthopedics-Traumatology College of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1993. Kathy practiced traditional Chinese medicine for over seven years before coming to Canada. She has been involved in clinical research for the treatment of sequela of cerebral thrombosis, arthritis, diabetes and coronary heart diseases using acupuncture, tuina massage and herbal medicine. Kathy is practicing TCM in Toronto, and teaches acupuncture and other courses at TSTCM.
