Course Name: Professionalism and Communication

Course Code: 705

Course Description: Practice of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture has been regulated since April 1, 2013. This course gives students an overview of the health care system and professional landscape, and provides a context early in their education for subsequent development of TCM professional knowledge, skills, attitudes and values. Upon the completion of this course, students will acquire basic knowledge of applicable legislation, CTCMPAO by-laws, standard of practice, policies and safety requirements. Students will develop self-awareness and keen assessment skills, learn critical thinking and effective communications, professional and the ethic roles of a health care professional.
