Course Description: This course discusses aspects of external medicine, orthopedics and traumatology. It provides students with a general introduction and detailed discussion of the TCM diagnosis and treatments of illnesses of external of the body, orthopedics and traumatolgy including skin, breast, rectum and anus, genitourinary area, eyes, ear, nose, and throat, muscular skeleton, and other miscellaneous conditions. Diseases are examined as identified by their western medical names or by their TCM titles, their TCM descriptions, etiology and pathogeneses, and the appropriate treatments using TCM remedies with the emphasis of Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture.
