Course Name: Acupuncture IV

Course Code: 204

Course Description: Having gained the knowledge of channels collaterals and points, students now learn needling techniques from basic needling to more advanced techniques such as tonifying, reducing and even methods. To ensure safe practice, this course starts with clean needle technique and all students must pass the CNT test before needling patient in the clinic. Different types of needles and equipment are introduced with a focus on safety and effectiveness. Ear, scalp, electronic acupuncture and other TCM techniques such as moxibusion, cupping, guasha, heating lamps are additional aspects of this course. A brief introduction to acupoint injection, intra-dermal needles and intra-dermal tack needles, three edge needling and blood-letting are briefly introduced.
